My first ever production assignment at the University of North Carolina school of the arts. I was very grateful to get put onto the musical my freshman year. But this show would only be the introduction to the many shows to come. Going into this job I wasn't the most confident, but I was excited to learn. Working as an A2 allowed me to see 1st hand, what it took to get a production done at each position. The responsibilities of the assistant sound designer, the A1, and the sound designer. The was my introduction to all the work hours I would have to put in and how much commitment and care each project would take.
Looking back on this assignment and comparing my experience from now to then, I can now see what it means to be a good leader. This project was very different in the since that I felt like I was in the dark for a lot of it. But its nice to see how much I've grown since then.
I learned the basics of sound:
-How to use Gaff Tape
-The connections of a sound system
-Its ok to ask questions!!!
