In my fourth year at UNCSA I was assigned to the Show Enron. This was a pivotal show for me as a designer because I got to put my skills to the test. Within my four years at this school, I have branched out and worked on many productions as a sound designer. This project in particular, I had the resources of the UNCSA sound department. For this project I chose to go for a more reflective sound system design. I learned about this while working as an A1 on a Dance show. My goal was to immerse the audience and I believe that was achieved. You can view an example of the system in the paperwork below.
This show contained about 150 sound cues. I worked very had to establish space with layered ambient sounds. For my transitions I made a bold choice to take the audience through the 90s by emulating clicking through channels while big media moments from that era played. I had a lot of fun with this. In retrospect there are many ways that I would go about this show differently. I would use different cue lists. I think including this in my next sound design will allow for me to be more efficient when mixing during tech.
